HOLLOW BONES

Molly runs the Rhode Island Department for Emergency Preparedness, constantly looking for ways to keep everyone safe. Her husband is a police polygraph expert. Between the two of them, they have seen a lot of terrible things and have a lot of baggage. Molly never knew her birth mother, who died on 9/11, but had an otherwise safe and normal childhood with her father and stepmother. When Molly finds out she's pregnant, she isn't sure she's ready. (Who is?) But having a baby isn't the only thing that's going to turn Molly's world upside down. Classic Picoult. She takes a subject that may be controversial and not well known and gives you what feels like intimate knowledge and insight through her extraordinary characters and writing. Some of her more recent novels didn't quite hit the right notes for me, but this one couldn't have been written by anybody else.
