       November heads us into the beginning of the holiday season.  The Huron County Community Library locations will be offering various workshops to get you started with your holiday spirit.

     Pinterest Monday at our Willard Memorial Library location will be held on Monday, November 13 at 6 p.m. in the annex.  Olivia Berner will be here to teach us how to make a live greenery, box wreath.  Sign-up is appreciated.

     On Thursday, November 16 at 6 p.m. Willard will be having a free Quilling Card Workshop in the annex.  Sign-up is required.  This workshop will teach us how to use a quilling technique to create a fun holiday card.

     On Thursday, November 2 at 6 p.m. “Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club” will meet in the Willard annex.  This month the cookbook selection is “Fix It and Forget It Lazy and Slow Cookbook: 365”.

     Come to the Willard Enrichment Center on Thursday, November 9 at 10 a.m. and learn how to create a twisted easel holiday card.  You can stick around after for a yummy lunch provided by the Enrichment Center.  This activity is for ages 18 and up.

     Join Johanna Beebe for free music classes at the Willard Library.  Dulcimer 101 Workshop will be held in the community room on Nov. 8 & 29 at 11 a.m.  Sign up is required as class size is limited.

     The Firelands’ Genealogical Society will be here for a “free” Genealogy Workshop.  This workshop includes 2 sessions.  The first night is instruction and the second night is hands on computer searching with a genealogical helper.  Space is limited to 8 so signup is required. Those signing up must attend both nights.  The workshop is Thursday, Nov.9 at 5:30 p.m. in the community room and Monday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 P.M. in the computer lab.

     Tech Thursdays with Jarrad are available every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Willard computer lab.  Just drop in with your questions.  Topics included are computer skills, email, social media, and more.

     “Monday Reads” will meet in the Willard community room on Monday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. to share thoughts on “The Secret Wife of Aaron Burr” by Susan Holloway Scott.

     “Turn the Page Book Discussion” will get together on Nov. 30 in the Willard community room to discuss “14” by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro.

      Teens can join Mrs. Rogers in the Willard Teen Room for fun activities and crafts.  Stop in on Thursdays in Nov. at 4 p.m.  On Nov. 2 let’s do some stamping.  On Nov. 9 stop by for a snack and play some fun games in the Teen Room and then on Nov. 16 come in to create a unique rain chain with wire.  

     Read to Me Storytime meets at our Willard location on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.  On Nov. 1 & 2 the theme is “What’s in the Pumpkin Patch”, on Nov. 8 & 9 it’s “All Around the Campfire”, on Nov. 15 & 16 it’s “Let’s Talk Turkey” and on Nov. 29 & 30 the theme is “It Feels Good to Hibernate”.  

     The Youth Services Department at the Huron County Community Library in Willard has plenty of activities planned for kids during the month of November.  On Thursday, Nov. 2, kids can come in and follow the numbered book pages through the Library for fun activities and more!  

     On Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. come to the youth department at Willard for an afternoon of card games.  We’ll be playing Go Fish, Uno, Skipbo, War, and more.

     Nov. 14 at 4:30 p.m. it is all about turkeys.  Kids are asked to join us in the Willard community room for turkey crafts, books, and activities.

     Dinosaurs will invade the Willard Library Youth Department on Nov. 21 and 22 ALL DAY!  Stop in either day to hunt for dinosaurs.  Find them all and earn a small treat or prize.

     Time for another Lego Challenge in the Willard community room on Nov. 28 at 4:30 p.m.  Come build with us, kids, and show off your skills.

      Join us, kids, at our Wakeman location on Friday, Nov. 3 at 10:30 a.m. for stories, games, and more.

     Drop in anytime between 3:30-6:30 p.m. for after school crafts and activities on Nov. 2, 9, & 16.  Every week there will be a different fun activity.

     “Pop-in and Play” at Wakeman is held on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. until noon.  Dates for November are Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.  

     A Kids’ Cookbook Club especially for homeschoolers will be held at the Wakeman Library  on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at noon.  The cookbook selected is “Halfway Homemade” by Parrish Ritchie.  Visit the Wakeman circulation desk for a copy of the cookbook and then select a recipe to cook and share.

     The Wakeman Cookbook Club for adults will meet on Monday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.  The cookbook being used is “Magnolia Table Vol. 2” by Joanna Gaines.  Pick up your copy at the Wakeman circulation desk.

     “Who Picked this Book?” Wakeman’s  book club will be sharing thoughts on the book “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugan.  They will meet on Monday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.

     Join Becky at the Greenwich Library for her “New” Family Crafting series.  The whole family is welcome to create a “Reversible Pumpkin/Snowman” anytime between 3-5 p.m. on Nov. 28, 29, or 30.

     Drop in each week to our Greenwich and North Fairfield locations for a take home craft or activity.  A new kit is available each week.

     If you are an adult or teen who enjoys playing cards, join Becky at Greenwich for “Card Night” on Monday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.  We will be playing the Midwest favorite, Euchre.

     Come to see us at the Greenwich library, homeschool families on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m.  We are going to be looking at Geology.  Discover with us how rockand minerals make up the world around us.

     Kids ages 4-12 are invited to stop by every Wednesday between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. for a different fun activity.

     Storytime for our littlest patrons will be held at the Greenwich Library on Friday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m.  “Run-a –dub-dub”!  Chris will have stories about baths in the tub and we’ll make something to take home for bath time fun.

     Evening Storytime for the whole family will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m.  Come and enjoy an evening of fun family stories and activities.

     The “Mystery and Thriller Book Club” will meet at Greenwich on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m.  The group will discuss the book “Up Jumps the Devil” by Margaret Maron.

     North Fairfield’s Pinterest Craft Day takes place on the first Friday of each month.  On Friday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. join us to create your own paper pumpkin lantern.  We’ll learn about shading with oil pastels and colored pencils.

    Storytime at North Fairfield will be Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.  Youngsters and their caregivers are invited to join Carolyn for stories, signing, and fun.  

    “Sit and Stitch” will be meeting on Mondays, Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 10 a.m.  Bring a project and join other crafty folks for conversation while crafting.  Exchange patterns or ideas and maybe even get some help with a difficult part.
