TOO OLD FOR THIS

Lottie Jones is living the life of a typical senior citizen - going to church, playing bingo with the girls, dinner in front of the TV, getting rid of body parts. Wait. What? Lottie has a past that she prefers to keep in the past. When Plum Dixon knocks on her door wanting to interview her for a docuseries about people wrongfully accused of crimes, Lottie has no intention of cooperating. Primarily because Lottie did commit the crimes she was accused of forty years ago, but she managed to escape charges and she's not going to go to prison for them now. So...Plum has to go. Lottie comes out of retirement to handle the Plum situation unaware of the can of worms that she's opening up. For me, this was Downing's best. Her macabre, dark humor may not be for everybody, but it makes for a fun, clever read. I loved the cover and in my head I pictured Helen Mirren playing the part of Lottie. Here's a serial killer that you want to be friends with.
