WORSE THAN A LIE

When a Black ex-Chicago police officer is gunned down during a traffic stop, civil rights attorney, Beau Lee Cooper, is compelled into action, even though he was only visiting the Windy City. Hollis Montrose, the former officer, survives the assault, but a corrupt police force places the blame on Hollis and claims they did everything by the book. Cooper and his team take on the city of Chicago, Chicago P.D. and public opinion to prove Hollis is an innocent victim of racism and police brutality. No surprises here. The story line flows right along but there are no plot twists or shocking revelations. Crump is an accomplished and influential civil rights attorney himself. If nothing else, hopefully this book raises awareness of racial injustice and the things we can all do to help stop it.
