Natalie appears to have it all - a devoted husband, loving children, a beautiful ranch home and a hugely successful social media presence. The children are homeschooled, the food is grown on site and very little of the outside world touches their isolated countryside. She has created her own little paradise. Or has she? When Natalie awakes one morning, things are different, very different. It still looks basically like her house, but where are the furnishings, the appliances, the lights? For that matter, where the hell is the electricity? Her family looks similar, yet not quite like they did yesterday. Is this a cruel joke, a new reality show she didn't sign up for? And how can she escape back to her perfectly crafted life? Well, one thing that can be said for this book is that at least it's not a cookie cutter of everything else out there. It's a unique story and Natalie is a unique woman. While not particularlylikeable, she gives life to thoughts that most of us would repress. I felt the story floundered a bit just over halfway through and I wasn't really happy with the ending, but I couldn't keep my hands off of it until I was done.
