Summer is finally here and with July also comes the final weeks of the Summer Reading Program
at our Huron County Community Library. All of our four locations continue to have a lot of great
activities planned.
Continue working out with Missy on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Meet at the Park Depot on July 1 and 15
for a walk at the Park. On July 8, come to the Willard Library Community Room for another session of
Chair Yoga with PT Patty. Don’t miss out on Cardio Drumming on July 22 in the Willard Library annex and
on July 29 take a walk at the Willard Reservoir.
Join us at 11 a.m. for “Food Fridays” at the Willard Annex as we create, taste and learn about
different food dishes you can do at home. Sessions include recipes and samples. On July 18, experience
“Butter and Dressings”. On July 25, “Smoothies” will be presented during the Senior Hour by the
Laurels.
On Wednesday, July 23 & 30 at 11 a.m. get together with Terry at the Willard Library for “Crochet
Corner”. At these summer classes create Granny Square drawstring bags. Classes are for ages 9 and up
so come and make a family project.
Do you have old nail polish to use up? Join us at the Willard Memorial Library Annex for “Pinterest
Monday” on July 14 at 6 p.m. Be creative with “Hydro-dipping” as we create a lovely vase by hydro-
dipping with nail polish.
An adult workshop will be held at our Willard Library location on Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m. in the
library annex. Come and create a sea glass tray using UV Resin, glass and more. Sign up is required.
Join us on Thursday, July 10 at 10 a.m. for “Craft Time with Library” at the Willard Enrichment Center.
This month we will be creating a patriotic lei with ribbons. This program is for ages 18 and up.
Teens you will be missing a lot if you don’t include “Teen Time” in your plans for July. Come to the
Willard Library location on Thursday, July 3 at 5 p.m. and create “Firework Tiles”, using alcohol ink or
sharpies, rubbing alcohol, and fire. We will be creating fireworks on ceramic tile! (Part of this program
will be held outside).
On Thursday, July 10, at 5 p.m. in the library annex, take part in “Jackson Pollock: Come get messy”.
Try spatter painting using different tools.
On Thursday, July 17 at 5 p.m. join us in the Willard annex for “Scratch Art”. Make your own scratch
art.
Teens don’t miss out on “Newton’s Cradle” on Thursday, July 24 at 5 p.m. in the Willard annex. Come
and learn about energy and motion while building “Newton’s Cradle” with popsicle sticks and marbles.

Join us Teens at Manga Club for lively discussions on selected manga with games and snacks. Manga
Club will be held in the Willard Community room on Mondays, July 14 & 28 at 6 p.m.
Teen programming is held for grades 6 and up (ages 11-18).
Bring your little ones on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for
“Read to Me Storytime” with Miss Mitzi. On July 2 & 3 the theme will be “Messy Art Day”; on
July 9 & 10 it will be “We are Mixing up Colors at Storytime”, and on July 16 & 17 it will be “Black and
White – What a sight”.
Kids, come and create some art without a canvas on Tuesday, July 2 at 1 p.m. in the Willard Library
annex. We will be painting on recycled DVD cases and adding lights inside.
“Wild Hooves Farm Petting Zoo” will be with us on Thursday, July 3 between 4 and 7 p.m. Come join
the Willard Memorial Library at the Willard City Park to enjoy some animals like alpacas, sheep, goats, a
mini donkey, a mini horse, mini cows and more.
All ages are invited to join us in the Willard Library Community Room on Tuesday, July 8 at 1 p.m. for
a behind the scenes look at the “Greater Cleveland Aquarium”. This live virtual tour will include fun
facts and the opportunity to ask your shark questions.
Come to the Willard Youth Services Department on Wednesday, July 9 at 1 p.m. for a “Creative Art
Project”. Come and paint toilet paper.
Join us in the Willard Youth Services Department on Friday, July 11 from 1-3 p.m. for “Crafty Corner
Creations: Scribble Art/Nuts and Bolts Jewelry”. Make a creative art project with supplies provided to
take home or to leave for the Art Show.
Stop by the Willard Library Community Room anytime from Monday, July 14 thru Saturday, July 19.
We have been creating art all summer so come and see what we have been doing. There will be art on
display from all ages.
“Crafty Corner Creations” will take place at the Willard City Park on Friday, July 18 from 1-3 p.m.
Come have fun creating “Messy Art”.
Kids, join us in the Willard Library Community Room on Thursday, July 24 at 1 p.m. We will be making
Minion infinity cards…cards that never end.
“Monday Reads”, Willard Library’s morning book club, will meet on July 14 at 10 a.m. They will be
discussing the book “American Beauty” by Shana Abe.
Turn the Page Book Discussion”, Willard Library’s evening book club, will be getting together on
July 31, at 6 p.m. They will be sharing their thoughts on the book “The Ride of her Life” by Elizabeth
Letts.
“Cook Up a Storm Cookbook Club” will meet on Thursday, July 3 at 6 p.m. Come to the Willard
Library Annex and take part in lively discussions and enjoy a bite to eat. Recipes will be selected from
“Copycat-Cooking with Six Sisters’ Stuff” by Six Sisters.
“Tech Thursdays” is available every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Bring your computer questions to the
Willard Computer Lab and Jarrad will be there to answer those questions.
If you love to write or would like to start, join Willard’s “Writers’ Group”. The group will be meeting
on Thursday, July 17 at 5 p.m. For more information contact Josh at jfigley@huroncolib.org.
Families are invited to join us at our Wakeman Library location for a special kids’ cookbook club.
“Look What I Cooked-Kids’ Cookbook Club” will meet on Tuesday, July 1 at 12 p.m. They will make
recipes from “Kids Cook! 100+ Super-Easy, Delicious Recipes” by Good Housekeeping Institute.
Hey Kids! Join Cathy at our Wakeman Library to create a colorful project. Come on Wednesday, July
2 and Wednesday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. Sign up is required.
Cathy also invites kids for “Storytime” each Friday at 10:30 a.m. for fun stories, activities, and more.
Come for a fun time Friday, July 11 and Friday, July 18.
Wild Hooves Farm Petting Zoo will be at our Wakeman Library July 8 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Come meet, feed, brush, and pet rescue animals with us. Bring the whole family.

It’s a “Foam Party” Tuesday, July 16 at 5 p.m. at our Wakeman Library. Come in your swim wear and
join us on the library lawn for slippery, wet fun.
Wakeman’s “Food for Thought Cookbook Club” will get together on Monday, July 7 at 6 p.m. Recipes
should be selected from the book, “Recipetin Eats Dinner” by Nagi Maehashi.
“Who Picked this Book?” Wakeman’s Book Club will be reading sharing thoughts on the book
“The Dry” by June Harper. Join us on Monday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m.
The “Laurels of New London” will present the “Senior Hour” at the Wakeman Library on Tuesday, July
29 at 10:30 a.m. Join us for a program of fun and learning with games, activities, prizes, and speakers.
“Pinterest Monday” will be held at the Wakeman Library on July 28 at 5:30 p.m. Join us to hydro-dip
a vase in nail polish. Sign up is required.
Our Greenwich location has plenty of activities scheduled in July. “Rainbow Storytime” continues at 1
p.m. on July 2 at the Library. Be sure to dress in green. On July 9 at 1 p.m. meet at the park and wear
blue and on July 16 meet at the library and wear purple.
Come to the Greenwich Library on Mondays between 5 and 7 for a 15 minute activity and then pick
up a nonperishable CHA Lunch Bunch from 6-7. On July 7 we will be issuing salt, water, and stencils to
paint a picture, on July 14 make a marble maze out of wax sticks, on July 21 create a picture that
changes color as it rotates around the plate, and on July 28 explore your creativity by using crayon
shavings to make colorful bookmarks.
Explore the world of Butterflies with the “Hungry Caterpillar” on Thursday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at the
Greenwich Library. Make an Eric Carle-inspired butterfly to help us decorate the library van for the
festival parade.
Kids drop in at the Greenwich Library between 2-4 p.m. for “Color Creations”. Wear old clothes and
come to enjoy messy, sensory fun and butterfly art on July 2. Sign up is required on July 9 & 16.
“Pinterest Monday” at our Greenwich Library is planned for July 7 at 5:30 p.m. Adults can come and
take part in “hydro-dipping”. Take part in hydro-dipping a vase in nail polish.
Meet live reptiles at our Greenwich location and learn how the color our world. Come and enjoy the
“Realm of the Reptile” on Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m.
On Thursday, July 17 from 2-4 p.m. enjoy our end of Summer Reading with face painting, shaved ice,
and a bouncy house. Then at 3:30 go on a color walk with a story. Wear a white or light colored t-shirt
to be a part of our Color Story Walk.
On Saturday, July 5, join us at Greenwich’s Fireman’s Festival. The Greenwich Library will be
presenting Mike Hemmelgarn on stage at 4 p.m. at the festival. Enjoy comedy, juggling, and
ventriloquism.
Also during the festival, come and find hidden treasure in the library book sale. It will be located on
the library’s lawn.
Adults! Come to our North Fairfield Library location and create a painting with Certified Bob Ross
Instructor, Jeanne Firment. The “Happy Painting” Workshop will be held on Monday, July 14 at 4:30
p.m. No experience is necessary and space is limited to 10 so sign-up is required.
Join PT Patty from Integrated Therapeutic Healing for “Chair Yoga”. North Fairfield Library will hold
this class on Tuesday, July 22 at 11 a.m.
Come create a sea glass tray using UV resin glass and more at the North Fairfield Library. Sign up is
required for this adult activity which is being held on Friday, July 11 at 1 p.m.
Tuesdays at 12 p.m. are for getting messy at our North Fairfield Library. On July 1 make a butterfly
puddler (messy butterfly art), on July 8 registration is required to design a butterfly T-shirt to take home,
and on July 15 registration is required to create Faux stained glass butterflies.
Drop in at our North Fairfield Library location on Monday, July 7&14 from 1-3 p.m. and help decorate
with butterflies using your choice of materials: coloring butterflies, painted rock butterflies, flying finger
butterflies, simple folded butterflies, and origami butterflies.

It’s a “Foam Party” with the library at the North Fairfield Park. Wear swimsuit or clothes that can get
wet and bring a towel. Join us Friday, July 18 at 1 p.m.
“Sit ‘n Stitch” meets at the North Fairfield Library every Monday morning at 10 a.m. Come join a
group of friendly fiber artists.
Don’t forget “Children’s Hunger Alliance” summer food program for children is available at all of our
Huron County Community Library locations. Willard Lunch Bunch is available on Mondays from 10 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Greenwich Lunch Bunch is Mondays at 6-7 p.m.
and Thursdays, from 12-2 p.m. Wakeman Lunch Bunch is Thursdays at 12-1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. and North
Fairfield Lunch Bunch is Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m.
